As a native of San Francisco, I've been immersed in the world of music from a very young age. My foundational training began with the esteemed San Francisco Girls Chorus, where I dedicated six years to honing my craft. This invaluable experience included touring Germany and performing for notable figures such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Mayor Ed Lee. My passion for storytelling through music truly flourished during high school. Here, I not only commanded the stage in productions like Urinetown and Chicago but also played an active role in the development and premiere of original student works. This early emphasis on driving and creating new theatrical pieces significantly shaped my commitment to collaborative and innovative musical endeavors.

My musical journey continued at San Francisco State University, culminating in a Master's degree in Music. During this period, I performed extensively with the University Chamber Singers, participated in local tours, and even had the distinct honor of sharing the stage with The Eagles at the Chase Center. I've also had the privilege of collaborating with and contributing to esteemed companies such as West Bay Opera, Lamplighters, Parallèle Opera, Arete Singers, and Philharmonia Baroque. My operatic repertoire is quite extensive, encompassing diverse roles from Menotti’s Amelia al ballo and The Consul to Jonathan Dove’s Flight and the title role in Handel’s Ariodante.

Hi, I’m Michelle Pavlova!

A person dressed in a black and white feathered costume with a tiered black ruffled skirt, standing in front of a black door with large red letters that say "Quiet! Stage". The person is making a shushing gesture with a finger to their lips.

While my roots are firmly planted in classical training, my vocal technique affords me remarkable versatility. This enables me to confidently perform and showcase a broad spectrum of musical genres beyond traditional opera. This adaptability is central to my artistic focus. Indeed, a significant portion of my work is dedicated to producing my own distinctive concert performances and engaging in innovative collaborations with fellow artists throughout the entire Bay Area—spanning the North Bay, East Bay, and South Bay. My profound dedication lies in bringing music to diverse audiences in fresh and compelling ways, whether on grand operatic stages, in intimate recital settings, or through groundbreaking contemporary and community-focused works.

Beyond performing, I harbor an equally strong passion for vocal instruction. There's immense satisfaction in guiding individuals, especially those who may doubt their own vocal abilities, to discover the profound joy of singing and performing. Leveraging my background in Early Childhood Education alongside my Master's of Music degree, I possess a comprehensive understanding of teaching methodologies across all age groups, empowering students to experience the transformative power of music.

Whether you are seeking an artist who brings both power and nuance to every performance, someone deeply committed to unique musical collaborations and community engagement, or a dedicated vocal coach to help you or your child unlock their singing potential, I invite you to connect. Let's explore how we can create something truly meaningful together!

“So long as the human spirit thrives on this planet, music in some living form will accompany and sustain it.”
