Canticles of Love
Join us for a heartwarming evening as celebrated Mezzo-Soprano Michelle Pavlova and Soprano Laurena Alm bring the magic of love to life in Canticles of Love. This enchanting concert features a selection of timeless melodies and beloved classics that celebrate the many shades of love—passionate, tender, pious, and joyful.
Joining them at the piano is the esteemed Kerrilyn Renshaw. A long-time faculty member and collegiate vocal coach at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Ms. Renshaw's distinguished career includes serving as Orchestra Pianist with the San Francisco Symphony, staff pianist for the San Francisco Opera, and performing as a collaborative artist at venues like Carnegie Hall and frequently with prominent Bay Area musicians.
With a program filled with familiar tunes, this performance is perfect for both seasoned classical music lovers and newcomers alike. Whether you’re swept away by soaring arias, captivated by charming duets, or moved by heartfelt art songs, you’ll find something to fall in love with.
Come experience the beauty of song and let your heart be carried away by the Canticles of Love!

Hav-Pav-Etz With The Albany Consort
In the Jewish tradition, Havdalah is the ceremony that marks the end of the Sabbath and the beginning of the Week-To-Come. It starts when three stars are visible to the naked eye. For this concert, we’re starting with desserts at 7:30pm, music sharp at 8:30pm mixing some Hebrew texts with Telemann and Vivaldi, and timing it to end with Havdalah just at the right time.
Telemann is represented by a trio from Essercizzi Musici featuring recorder and gamba, and Vivaldi by an arrangement of Spring from The Four Seasons tailored to the group as a (mostly) harpsichord concerto.
The Hebrew texts are from Salamone Rossi’s Songs of Solomon with part of Ernest Bloch’s Sacred Service. We hope this mix of styles will be inspiring, and that our musical version of Havdalah will gently and peacefully invite a new week of activity.
Featuring:
Jonathan Salzedo (harpsichord/organ)
Marion Rubinstein (recorder)
Michelle Pavlova (Mezzo-soprano)
Laura Jeannin (violin)
Amy Brodo (cello/viola da gamba)
